In 2021, Kodak Black received a proclamation during a special ceremony where Broward County Commissioner Dale Holness formally recognize June 11 which is also the artist's birthday as “Kodak Black Day,” after listing the Haitian-American rapper's good deeds and work in the community.
On Saturday, June 11, 2022, Kodak Black hosted his inaugural Kodak Black Day Music Festival which consisted of carnival rides, food, games, a private meet-and-greet with the rapper, and a major concert at the Pompano Community Park.
For this initial Kodak does what he always does and enlisted various Haitian entrepreneurs and brands to organize the event. Shout out to @Iamfranckypierrepaul for all his work in making this historical day for the city of Pompano Beach, Florida happen. We were privileged to work alongside the team as a media sponsor and our CEO @Mrswanda co-hosted the meet and greet. Also on stage were Haitian-American personalities @Stichiz, @Supacindy, and Haitian skittles artist @Haroldcaudio who created a Kodak Black piece for his special day.
In the last two years since he received his pardon, Kodak has taken advantage of every opportunity to help his community like providing AC units to families in Pompano, paying the college tuitions for the children of two FBI agents killed in action, covering funeral costs of a South Carolina police officer and donating $100,000 to Nova Southeastern University's law school in memory of Parkland victim Meadow Pollack.
