Marie Faustin, comedian, expresses that her parents were more strict with her than they were with her brother. They wouldn’t allow her to go to LA for college so she ran off to New Jersey, playing with distance. They also told her she couldn’t leave their house until she got married. But her parents soon learned something important: a young eligible Haitian doctor would not just magically appear at their doorstep to ask for their daughter’s hand.
