Wynnie Lamour, founder and managing director of The Haitian Creole Language Institute of New York, admits that advocating Creole comes with its challenges. Some have to do with the fact that she is a black woman in America who is also culturally of someplace else. She even informs about why she hadn’t started the institute sooner.
