Wynnie Lamour, founder and managing director of The Haitian Creole Language Institute of New York, thinks that people who say Haitians “speak Haitian” are often coming from a place of ignorance. And rather than expecting her to curate a learning experience for every non-Haitian, she says in 2019 people should make the effort to learn on their own.
