Yves ‘Fanfan’ Joseph of Tabou Combo provides three characteristics he believes a president needs to be successful in Haiti.
In addition, Fanfan goes back in time to inform that when countries like Congo took their independence around the late 1800s, they sought out black intellectuals to educate them because they didn’t want the white man’s teachings. During that time period, considering the successful Haitian Revolution in 1804, Haiti was the only negro nation to have black academics who could provide this service. Fanfan emphasizes that Haiti was supposed to be the Mecca of the free black man.
